Second turn

We have just started covering Lake Gardens Women and Children Development Center, ANKUR as part of Helping Hands. Founded in 1992, its main aim was to render service to the underprivileged girl children and women living in the shanties along the railway track between Dhakuria and Lake Gardens and in slums of  Masjidpara & Jodhpur colony. Now they have expanded their objectives towards empowering women, raising community-awareness on child labour, gender equality, food & nutrition etc. with two new projects in Howrah Tikiapara and Santoshpur Budgebudge. The programme now also includes educational and nutritional support, vocational training etc for boys.

Check out their website for more information. We will post pictures soon!
